Everyone’s favorite internet cat Maru recently acquired a fabulous cardboard hideaway, which he demonstrated for us on YouTube. This appears to be Kamakura’s Lair, a cardboard cat habitat created in Japan and available through the Japanese website Rakuten.
What a perfect little hideaway made from heavy duty cardboard. Maru’s a lucky guy, since it looks like this creation costs ¥9300, which is about $120 US.
If you haven’t seen the video of Maru with his new house, check it out below. Apparently, he was only interested in his new hideaway after it was placed on his favorite chair. He’s such a funny guy!
This is so great. I wish i could afford 2 for my cats maru is very lucky and i enjoy his videos very much.
These cat hide-a-ways look great, and if MARU approves they must be good.
As a product designer, I couldn’t have designed it better. Thumbs up; and if MARU approves…
Lol, $120 for some cardboard. Get crafty and make your own, seems like a simple enough design, cut circles out of cardboard, doughnut hole enough to allow for cave like nesting, and voila! same thing, made for free from cardboard boxes you have lying around the house.
$120 for a few artfully stacked rings of cardboard ??? I gotta get into the cat structure business!
