Neko Flies recently launched a set of new attachments for their wildly popular wand toys and they sent us some to test. I let my newest product tester, Little Bear, have a look and he approves! BIG TIME! These three new attachments are mind-blowing!
The new collection features little design elements that will drive cats crazy. The new Foxifur Kittenator attachment is made with a little bit of faux fur attached to a “head” that’s perfect for grabbing onto, as Little Bear demonstrates above. Actually, I have to pry it out of his mouth, he loves it so much. It is just the right size and texture and the tail wiggles just like a live critter (but it’s cruelty-free!). It’s Little Bear’s new favorite thing.
The new Kattipede attachment is another awesome little creature that has two segments, which makes it jiggle and wiggle around. And the dangly little legs and antennae are irresistible.
Rounding out the new collection is the Kittycaterfly with shimmering butterfly wings that catch kitty’s eye as they fly by, causing serious pouncing and chasing. Just like all the other Neko Flies cat toys, the new offerings are very sturdy.
The new Neko Flies attachments and available from nekoflies.com and on Amazon.
Cats need playtime EVERY DAY. Sitting around or looking out the window doesn’t cut it. When you’re being entertained by the TV, take out your cat wand and swing it around. Switching up the attachments keeps them interested, and they need the exercise, too. My kitties LOVE these toys and after dinner they hang around the drawer I keep them in, giving me hopeful looks until I bring them out.
Ever see your cat smile and laugh? I have.
These have *huge success* written all over them — I just have one concern, regarding the little “legs” being torn off and ingested. Hopefully that doesn’t happen?
*Little Bear is a cat after my own heart, btw*
Hi, Susan. I’ve had two flies with legs for a few months. My kitty loves to chew things apart, and she’s not yet torn the legs off, and it’s certainly not for lack of trying. These things are solidly made, for sure. The length of the legs isn’t long enough to tie up in knots inside their guts, so I personally wouldn’t be concerned if my little one were to ingest a rubbery appendage. I hope this helps.
I’ve used these toys for over a year, sometimes I’ve forgotten and left them out and find them all over the house. They absolutely adore them. I have multiple cats and have never had a problem with the legs coming off. The durability of these things are off the chart.
These toys are Great! And they are also available at http://www.PuuttyPower.com as well! 🙂
We love our Neko fly! We’re gonna look for those new attachments!!
I have a couple Neko flies & my boys love them. They go nuts, chasing them. I love Neko flies!
Thanks Hauspanther for the update on Neko flies. My cat has loved them since I first introduced them after reading about them on Moderncat. I will look for the faux fur toy. My cat seems to be more of mouse guy than a bug guy LOL
With indoor cats it’s always great to find a new stimulating toy to help exercise & stimulate their bodies and minds. Thanks Kate and Little Bear for letting us know about these! Ordered right away! Will share pix! 🙂
LOVE THESE!
Lucky Little Bear!
I ordered these from the Neko Flies website after seeing them here in mid-January. I wasn’t sure if my picky cat would go for the mouse and butterfly attachments, but I figured she needed some new toy (she’s getting bored of a bird one).
Well, from the minute I took the butterfly one out of its package, she has ADORED chasing after it! Whenever she sees its iridescent wings make an appearance, she stops whatever she’s doing and runs out. The mouse one, surprisingly, is less popular with her but her obsession with the butterfly one more than makes up for that. Thank you for the recommendation, Hauspanther! I (along with my cat) highly recommend this clever toy!
My cat has toys she really likes, and then there are the Neko Flies. She gets so excited when I take them out, and it seems she can never get enough play with these! I can’t believe how much she loves them. She will regularly “ask” for them, by standing on the arm of the chair closest to the bookcase, staring pointedly up at the shelf where the stick and flies are kept, then turning to me and meowing. I sometimes lay out the three flies I have side-by-side, so she can choose one, and without fail, she’ll go straight for the Kittenator (the mousey one), but still loves the Kitycada and the Kragonfly when I choose them instead. They have realistic-ish (though stylized) looks and movements. The weight, the balance, the appendages, the way they move, the chewability the overall quality, and even the instructional videos that show how best to use each attachment, all prove how well-designed and thoroughly thought-out these toys are.
I’ve had this toy with three attachments for a few months now. It lasts well, and my kitty is not only not getting bored with them yet, her interest seems to be increasing. You’re supposed to only tease your cat with the flies, not let them be caught, but I do love seeing Hermione catch and attack the “critters,” so mine aren’t lasting as long as you can expect if you use them as suggested. They’re still lasting surprisingly well. To me, it’s worth the sacrifice. The stick did break just yesterday (luckily inside the handle section, so I think I can get away with still using this another couple of weeks before needing to buy a new one). Maybe count on replacing the stick every few months, if you have one reasonably gentle cat who LOVES to play. If you have multiple cats, or just one who is a bit rough, you might need to replace them more often.
For Christmas this year, every cat-owning household in my family will receive a set of Neko Flies.
