It’s been pretty cold here in the Southwestern US this winter and my cats have been asking me for a heated cat bed to keep warm. Here are a few styles that look nice and toasy:
- Cuddle Up Heated Cat Bed – 16″ diameter orthopedic foam base.
- Heated Kitty Cabin – Folds into three different shapes, removable heater and washable cover. Available in mocha or sage.
- Heated A-Frame– A cozy heated A-frame lodge.
- Heated Kitty Hut – 18″ diameter for larger cats. Available in mocha or sage.
- Heated Cat Crinkle Sack – Crinkly noise and orthopedic foam base. Measures 10″ x 15″ x 12″.
My foster kitties NEED these. They occupy the lower level of my home. It gets cold down there, especially on days like today. It’s zero degrees in Chicago. Brrrr…
My 20 yr old Squeaky kitty would love a heated bed. Thanks for posting this.
Are they safe though? I’ve been hearing for years that electric blankets and heating pads can be dangerous, causing fires and burns, so why would a similar product be okay for a cat?
I too live in the Chicago land area and our thermometer read 0 this morning… there are outside cats who i put food out for. They only show up now and then and weren’t there the day before (no tracks & food wasn’t touched) But last night one was there tracks in the snow ,,, but the food still wasn’t touched. I don’t know if they would have kept warm in those beds ,,, but i would have felt better having them there just in case. 🙁
I want to say thank you for putting this list together! These heated kitty pet bed options are great! My 10 year old meow meow needs one!
I am a foster Mom for the Portage APL and specialise in bottle fed kittens, pregnant moms or w/ newborns and special needs animals. I really like the heated beds for my orphan kittens, since they can’t regulate their body temperature and the cats that are recovering from surgery, malnutrition, dehydration and other health issues. In 2012 I had 119 fosters and have had over 600 since I started fostering in 2012, I tell everyone that fostering is my therapy for dealing with life’s daily stresses 🙂
Thanks for telling us about the heated beds. My cats LOVE a self heating one, Cozy Cushion by Drs Foster and Smith, that uses something to reflect the cats own heat back to them, with no electricity.

Unlike other self heating ones I have tried, it does not have foil in it so it does not make noise that then some cats are fearful of
My outdoor cats are always on them in the mornings. And, they wash and dry great. I’ve had the same ones for years.
Oh wow! I gotta ask my human why I don’t have one of these!
Thanks!

Beautiful designs and colors, so comfy-looking! I share fellow poster Angie’s concerns about electrical cords. That’s why I opt for cat beds lined with faux fleece, and others that reflect the cat’s own warmth back onto him or her. Would love to see some of those shared here, as well.
Love these beds…sometimes laps just aren’t available! Shared on meow.com facebook page. 🙂
My cats would appreciate one of the sack designs without the crinkle. They hate the sound of plastic bags. Just a suggestion as they both like to hide.
A far cheaper option for those with multiple cats is a foot warmer mattress pad. It is a rectangular warmer which goes on the bottom of the bed only. I found the queen size heater for $25 at walmart (I’m using it on my full size sofa – it fits the seating area perfectly) and Walmart.com has twin/full size for $17 which would probably fit well on a loveseat. I usually have the sofa cushions covered anyway wtih a washable blanket (inevitable hairballs/vomit), and the mattress pad slips underneath easily. The kitties love it!
