Every once in a while, I see a new cat product and I am blown away by the sheer brilliance of the concept. This is one of those products. It’s the Cat Crib, a simple idea that makes you smack your head and say “Of course! Why didn’t I think of that?”
The Cat Crib is a cat hammock that hangs under any chair, creating a cozy napping spot in a normally unused area. Brilliant! It’s made with soft fleece on one side and black, tan, or purple fabric on the opposite side (sorry, the blue pictured above is no longer available). The Cat Crib attaches easily to four chair legs with Velcro straps that have a grippy surface to hold the hammock in place. Adjust the height so kitty has enough room to crawl in, and you just created the perfect hideaway.
The Cat Crib is designed to fit chairs with legs that are 18″ to 27″ apart. You can also use it under a small side table. The Cat Crib is available from the Hauspanther online store.
LOVE THIS!! I had a similar idea using end tables. 🙂
I just got one of these last week and it was being used within minutes of installation. Great product!
Are you implying that we cats clutter up the house? Gasp! I’ll save $29 and continue to sleep ON the chair. I’m not a second class citizen.
I just bought this for my cat Pixie. I think she will love it!
I ordered one from Fab.com a little while back for my sick kitty (who is going through a hiding spell). I wanted to be able to check on him a little bit more without waking him up by opening the closet door or crawling under the bed. I set up the Cat Crib under a chair next to my sofa. I brought him to it and he climbed right in and took a nap. I was so happy that I could just check on him by leaning down and not have to wake him up. The only problem is that my other cat has gone insanely drunk with power. (Sick kitty used to rule the roost and now Little kitty bosses him around and isn’t so Little now that she eats all his food.) So on day 2 of Cat Crib, she decided that she wants it, beats up Sick kitty and takes his spot. Happy as a clam. I ordered another one off Amazon.com a few days ago so that Sick kitty can have one for himself. So there you go, both healthy and sick kitties approve!
While we agree wholeheartedly with Cathy Keisha and know that cats are living treasures whose presence adds to the beauty and elegance of the home environment, the photos are adorable and the cats look very contented!
