I can’t believe it has taken me this long to test one of those cat DVDs with my furkids, but I just put one in the DVD player for the first time and the results are amazing! I’m having so much fun watching them watch the DVD, thank goodness this is actually my job, because I don’t want to do anything else today. This is hilarious!
We are watching the original Cat Sitter DVD from Go Cat. I know I’ve seen this a thousand times in my vet’s waiting room, but my cats are always so stressed when they’re at the vet’s, they never enjoyed — or even noticed — the DVD playing when we were there. At home, with a nice comfy cat tree in front of the TV, they are having the ultimate entertainment experience.
I just had to share some of these photos of their reaction. So far, no one has knocked the TV on the floor, but they have tried to look behind it to see how the birdies and mousies got in there.
There are many Cat Sitter DVDs available on Amazon, ranging from $7 to $15, or you can get the Cat Sitter DVD Trilogy for $34.95. Well worth the money!
It is critically important to make sure your TV is securely mounted to the wall/entertainment center. 18 pounds of cat and 40 inch flatscreen was a near disaster. 🙂
I haven’t played the DVD since. 😀
Our beloved Samuda was an avid fan of tv. These days, I’d say Tarifa is the main couch potato type, and we all love nature programs, so we get quite a lot of cat-friendly viewing. I do have a couple of cat-specific features I’ll have to replay, though, as well as a couple of CDs recorded just for cats 😉 Your tv room looks very inviting. It just doesn’t get any better than that!
Sometimes the cats watch the telly, but they prefer cop shows! lol
Seriously, the DVD is a great concept, I think that even my 4 year old daughter would love it.
But no fair tempting us with your fab Curvynest! I so want one, yet you can’t buy it anywhere and the company is in Taiwan (I am in the USA).
Off topic, but where can I purchase the large Curvynest your cats are enjoying?
Who makes the curvy tower in front of the TV?
I have to say, I am completely intrigued by this product and had never even considered looking for something like this for our cat, Cleo. He is able to go outside through a catflap while we are out of the house, so I’m not sure how responsive he would be to the videos, given he can get the real thing any time. However, he stays in a lot now that he’s older. I might have to get the trilogy. Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t played mine in awhile so thanks for the reminder. My cats also look behind the TV to see if they can get to the mice and birds that way. It’s so fun to watch them watching!
That is so adorable! My cats would love the dvd but also the cat tree yours r very lucky.
My 10 year old cat used to love it, but is now OVER it, however, just got a new addition, Polly is about 2 years old and just LOVES it! 🙂 Have to find the pics to upload.. I put it on when I’m leaving the house to distract them (I set the timer on the the tv so it shuts off after the video has finished). However, I still have the old VHS version, so I guess it’s time to upgrade! 🙂
