The folks at Hagen really do know how to design something that fills a gap in the market. Theirmodern sisal cat scratchers are available from Amazon for right around $20. Yes! That’s right, stylish and affordable! There are two styles, the Hourglass and the Vase. Both are wrapped with sisal rope and have an opening in the top where you can put toys or catnip to entice kitty to scratch.
They’re not extremely tall, the Hourglass is just 18″ tall and the Vase is 13.5″, but they have a great shape and the base looks sturdy.
LOVE these. Wish they made taller versions, too. The cats around here like to stretch full length when they whale on a scratcher.
They’re pretty but they look too small and short to be functional for adult cats. Reviews say the base is plastic and not sturdy. Oh well, at that price, it was too good to be true.
I had that idea first, well ok, my idea was to put a punching ball on the top instead of flowers!!!
I like these and they’re not too expensive either. Always a plus.
I bought one of these when they first came out. My cats love it and it is a great place to store the wand toys. It is tip resistant, my strong girl can bring it up to one side of the rim, but has not tipped it over. Sisal has stood up well for over a year of scratching by my cat and 2 foster cats. I am happy with the product.
Amazon.ca wants $120 for both plus catnip spray.
These are so much more livable than most scratching posts. We adopted a 10 yr old neighborhood stray last year and he likes to scratch. Target has a cone shaped one that is also livable. It is sisal and I think a Boots and Barkley label. I tried to find it online to show you but for now it’s only in stores. I got one last week for $14.97 and Atlas loves it
I have both verslons as well. I filled the vases with beach sand so the are real heavy an do not tip over anymore if the kitties are scratching. This also is handy if you want to stick in some branches or so. They look real nice!
