Today is National Hairball Awareness Day, a day to recognize that hairballs in cats are no fun! Remember, hairballs can be reduced with regular grooming using tools like the FURminator deShedding tool.
The folks over at FURminator celebrated this week by asking a group of cat bloggers to take some of that excess cat fur and make a little mustache for a fun photo shoot with their cats for a Moustache Cats Gallery. We continued the fun and asked our readers to do the same and here are the results! Some mustaches are made of real fur, some are drawn on, and others are naturally occurring. Click on the images below to enlarge.
Thanks to everyone who sent in a photo of their mustache cat! Happy National Hairball Awareness Day!
The awesome photo above is of two beautiful cats, Cooper and Rascal, both up for adoption at the Red Door Animal Shelter in Chicago.
My cat Bradley rarely gets hairballs, but with a few long haired foster cats staying with us… he left me a present yesterday and l will safely assume it was in EARLY celebration to this “holiday” 🙂
Jesse does NOT look pleased with the ‘stache. Flora looks like she just might eat hers! And look at ANDO with his matching color-coordinated ‘stache! Everyone is stylin’ proud, no doubt about it!
I worked like crazy to get my cat behind a furry moustache and forgot to send it in in time!!!!!!
You can still send it!
Everyone looks adorable in their moustaches.
The mustasheos en photos were … ARE … just a BLAST! Thanks for my laughs of the night.
And what’s this with National Hairball Awareness DAY?! As if we cat mama’s and papa’s aren’t reminded several times a week that hairballs ARE part of feline reality? Sure don’t need a day pointing out this kind of awareness .. we’re already TOO aware! hahaha
Hip cats!
Thank you for using my photo of Cooper and Rascal for this blog post! I love those two boys, and have my fingers crossed they find their furever home soon!! I love all the other images as well, so fun :)))
