If you’re not familiar with the Scratch Lounge, then you should be pretty excited about this (as excited as Ando was to test one out!) The shape of the Scratch Lounge is perfect for kitties to plop down in, with thick corrugated cardboard surfaces on the bottom and on two sides, creating a cardboard nest. The other great design feature is that all three cardboard pads (bottom and both sides) are reversible, so it’s like getting two loungers in one. And when it’s really done, the whole thing is recyclable.
The Scratch Lounge is made in the USA in Chicago, Illinois using all safe materials including non-toxic wheat-based glue to adhere the cardboard pieces together. And besides being a great product, The Scratch Lounge is made by a great company. A full 10% of profits are donated to The Amanda Foundation Mobile Clinic, which provides low-cost spay/neuter services specifically to the poorest communities of Los Angeles.
The Scratch Lounge is available from Amazon
I love everything about this. *Including the gorgeously handsome model* 😉
Yes, he certainly is a beaut, isn’t he. I love how Ando is always the first one to check out all the new products. Black cats are so cool!
My own cats love their Scratch Lounge! And the company was so generous to send me some for the cats at PAWS, the shelter where I volunteer. Those are long gone – loved to pieces (literally) by the shelter cats.
My cats absolutely LOVE this thing. They snub 99% of anything manufactured and produced specifically for felines, but they both love this lounger. They both like to sleep here, and our big cat likes to show off his big paws by scratching here. I’ve only seen the lounger available for purchase at Marshall’s, therefore, I’ve bought 2 others & have them stored for back up when this first one starts to get shredded and/or look funky.
I never realized this was locally produced and that some of the profits were donated. Even better.
Big fans. Keep up the good work.
My Izzy just loves his Scratch Lounge! I used to recycle them and buy new ones when the pads were used up, but discovered that you can buy replacement pads (the large one, not the side pads I don’t believe). I couldn’t find any local retailers who carried the replacement pads, but they do sell them on the Scratch Lounge website. Cheaper than buying a whole new unit and greener too. I highly recommend this product!
My cats absolutely LOVE these! The box end up a flattened mess with chewed corners, and I STILL have to chase the cats off of it to replace it.
My cat LOVES this! She sleeps in it for hours and scratches away! What a fantastic product. I found quite a few of these at TJ Max for 15 bucks! A great gift for folks who just got a cat or kitten too!
The scratch lounge is also available from their website, and they have several specials on right now. When I bought it a while back, I received a book with mine – The Cats of Lamu 🙂

I’ve had one of these for over a year and Junior just loves it.
What a great scratcher! My only hesitation is that I have one cat that likes to urinate on flat scratchers, but I’d sure like to try this, anyway.
Have one and my one cat loves it she sits and plays or takes a nap in it
Our cats loved their original Scratch Lounge so much, we bought two more and they are always occupied. I agree that they make great gifts; we’ve given them as presents to persons who’ve adopted one of our “foster cats”; I think the familiar Scratch Lounge has helped adjustment to a new home.
ALL cats seem to love the Scratch Lounge. They’re a fixture in my home. Each cat had to have his own! They occasionally scratch them but mostly lounge. I think we’ve had them for two years and they look like new. I do vacuum them weekly with a brush attachment. Amazing design work, Scratch Lounge Folks. Bravo!
My cats love the scratch lounge so much I had to buy one for each of them so they wouldn’t fight over it. They’re really great for cats that like to lay on their side and scratch things such as the stairs or side of the couch.
