Here’s an update on the voting for our $1,000 Catification Shelter Makeover sponsored by The Vertical Cat! So far we’ve received 4,855 votes and here are the current standings with five more days left to get out the vote:

- 3rd place – Puffy Paws Kitty Haven – Englewood, FL with 633 votes
- 4th place – PAWsitively Cats – Tucson, AZ with 488 votes
- 5th place – Hobo Hotel for Cats, Inc. – Lake Charles, LA with 434 votes
- 6th place – Tree House Humane Society – Chicago, IL with 391 votes
- 7th place – HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team of Maine) – Cumberland, ME with 373 votes
- 8th place – Friends of Cats – El Cajon, CA with 307 votes
- 9th place – Save The Animal Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II) – Englewood, NJ with 302 votes
- 10th place – Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County – Vero Beach, FL with 252 votes
There’s still plenty of time to drum up some votes for your favorite shelter! Voting ends at midnight on August 28, 2013. You are allowed one vote per email address.

As I said when entering, I support the efforts of ALL of these wonderful shelters, and I know that whichever one wins will put this to very good use. 🙂
Cats Cradle is a no kill, free range cat shelter. They take in everyone who is turned away by larger organizations in the area and beyond. The sick, hurt, pregnant, and afraid… Nobody is turned away. Nobody waits in cages for months on end until they are adopted. Every person involved gives 100% every day to give these cats the very best. It is run by volunteers and a very dedicated community. Recently they have had a stretch of bad luck. A large number of sick and injured cats has taken a toll. Not to mention a theft of all of their furniture! This could be a big help to a small organization. Please vote for Cats Cradle!!
