- 5th place – Hobo Hotel for Cats, Inc. – Lake Charles, LA with 835 votes
- 6th place – PAWsitively Cats – Tucson, AZ with 680 votes
- 7th place – Tree House Humane Society – Chicago, IL with 678 votes
- 8th place – HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team of Maine) – Cumberland, ME with 539 votes
- 9th place – Friends of Cats – El Cajon, CA with 499 votes
- 10th place – Save The Animal Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II) – Englewood, NJ with 399 votes
There was some confusion about the deadline, so we’ve extended the voting until midnight on August 28, 2013 so there’s still time to get the word out and drum up some more votes for your favorite finalist! Remember, you can only vote once per email address.

PRIZE UPDATE
Don’t forget, all ten of these shelters will be winners! Here are the awesome prizes that we have lined up:
The shelter with the most votes will win $1,000 worth of cat climbing products from The Vertical Cat and a free phone consultation with the official “Catification Team” — The Cat Daddy himself, cat behaviorist Jackson Galaxy, and yours truly, Kate Benjamin, Cat Style Expert and founder of Hauspanther.
Auntie Em Creations is going to work with the second place finalist to create a custom configured 5-tier Cat Condo, plus they are giving the third place finalist a Bunk Bed, and BOTH the fourth and fifth place finalists will receive a Single-tier Hammock.
The second and third place finalists will each receive a 3 Ramp Wall Package and a set of Cat-Themed Wall Decals compliments of CatsPlay.com.
The second place thru tenth place finalists will each receive a 23″ Cat Shelf from The Vertical Cat.

The Vero Beach shelter has helped my daughter in the past with her cats. They need and deserve this makeover. The people at this shelter have hearts of gold.

I believe they all need to win, unfortunately only one can. I think an excellent way to help would be to pick your shelter of choice and donate even five dollars a week to them. If every cat lover did this think of the results, and most of us would not really miss five dollars or even a dollar a week would help if enough people donated:-)
