Technology is definitely changing the way we interact with our pets and this brand new invention offers some interesting new features. Introducing Kittyo, a high tech device that will be available in 2014. Operated by an app on any iOS or Android-enabled smartphone, Kittyo allows pet owners to keep an eye on and interact with their pets from anywhere. The device includes a video camera that lets you watch and record videos and still images of your cat, an audio speaker so you can talk to your cat while you’re away and activate sounds to attract kitty to the device, plus a laser toy and a treat dispenser that can both be activated remotely. how much fun is that! Kittyo will launch a Kickstarter campaign in 2014 to bring the product to market. Sign-up for email updates at Kittyo.com to find out when it will be available.
Such a great idea! I hope it works as intended. For myself, I especially would like being able to check in with my cats while traveling and depending on a pet sitter.
love the treats and toy option. I use the dropcam to do part of this now…it lets you watch them and you can talk to them too, though there is a delay. i put it in the room they spend the most time….quality is pretty good.

“The device includes a video camera that lets you watch and record videos” So we can say – YouTube will be flooded when this comes out. 🙂
I also agree to Kimberly, I see a huge benefit in this device as a “baby monitor” which let’s me know my cat’s alright as I’m away.
Besides, when I saw smaller image on Hauspanther’s FB page, the device reminded me of electronic cat food dispenser. So, why wouldn’t smart guys develop it even further, and combine the two, making this an ultimate cat-entertaining-pet-sitter-device? Would I want it for my cats? Probably no, but I know may would adore it!!!
I would love to support and purchase this device, however it does not support Windows Phone (WP7, WP8).
If it did I would be more than happy to contribute to the Kickstarter.
Hi Simon,
Just wanted to let you know that while we are initially developing apps for iOS and Android though not ruling out a Windows version in the future. So keep your eyes peeled!
Best,
KITTYO
I can see where this might be very useful for a lot of people and their cat families!
there is actually already a similar product about to hit the market, called PetCube. It has already reached its funding goal thru kickstarter. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petcube/petcube-stay-closer-to-your-pet
Altho the PetCube doesn’t dispense treats, it does look like a way more stable product, as the Kittyo looks like it can tip over easily. Once it’s tipped over, it’s also game over (unfortunately).
Either way, both products definitely fill a need for pet lovers all over the world. Best of luck to Kittyo~
Adam – it looks like Kittyo thought that issue through…
If you look on their website …. “Because we know that cats love to knock things over, Kittyo’s sleek design can easily clamp to your shelf or attach to your wall.”
Hi Adam, as Michael pointed out, Kittyo will come with the ability to secure to the wall or to a shelf so it can’t be knocked over. We know how cats love to push things off shelves and tables, so we did our research on this one! I hope this puts your mind at ease.
Best,
KITTYO
well that IS an intersting concept.
I have the DART in stock and sometimes people ask if it can have a timer on it so it will start randomly – so this is great
