Looking for a unique cat tower? Check out the Bowsers Cat Tower for something completely different. Each of the five solid wood, upholstered cubes stack on top of each other to create a stable, attractive cat tower. you can even rearrange the cubes to create two separate towers. The cubes are covered in heavy weight ribbed natural cotton, ideal for cats that scratch. The tower creates multiple levels for climbing and hiding and the modern design is unlike any other cat tower on the market today. All of the cubes stack into each other for convenient storage.

I always thought this was cardboard — great to see that it’s wood covered in fabric! Rich for my blood, but a great design for those who can afford it!
We have this tower and it has some problems that people should know about before they invest in it. First, it is not stable – the cubes fit together pretty snugly, but an adult cat running up the tower can (and does) topple the top cube or two or three off of the tower. Which is a safety hazard for any creature that is in the path of the falling cubes -both humans and felines. We took the top cube off for this reason and the cats have learned to climb a nearby chair and then jump to the top of the tower, which isn’t quite how I wanted it to work.
Second, the fabric on the towers is not ribbed or sturdy It is a linen/burlap like weave that is very pretty, but it shreds easily. Our tower has entire areas where the fabric is so shredded that the hardboard used to construct the cubes is showing, and it took just a couple of months for the cats to do this. Again not what I wanted.
Finally, each of the holes in the cubes is outlined on the inside with a type of fabric that home sewers often use for interfacing garments. The donut shaped interfacing pieces are glued around the inside of each hole in the cubes. Our cats pulled the interfacing donuts and/or pieces of them off of the cubes really easily and tried to eat them. I wound up just removing all of the interfacing donuts, so the cats could not eat them. Again, not what I wanted – I really don’t want to pay for kitty surgery to remove interfacing from their intestines. The manufacturer, Bowsers, promised to let me know the content of the interfacing and glue, so I could tell our vet what the cats were eating, but Bowsers never got back to me with the info. Instead they said that they did not know the composition of the materials, but they were sure that they were not toxic for the cats. I don’t see how Bowsers can know the material is not toxic if they do not know what is in it.
I told Bowsers and the seller, Wayfair, about the problems several years ago. Wayfair stopped carrying the towers. It is distressing to see that Bpwsers is still advertising the wrong fabric on the cubes. It makes me wonder if they’ve addressed the other problems.
It is such a beautiful looking cat tower that I really wanted Bowsers to find a way to secure the cubes together; use harder -to-shred fabric; and deal with the flimsy interfacings. I wanted this cat tower to function as beautifully as it looks. .
Legos for cats. I’m sure mine would have fun with these. The stacking function is perfect for storage; I’m sure at least one of my cats would prefer them that way.
Great design glad to read comments before purchasing thank you!
Our 3 yr old cat loves this tower (and so do we)! I read the above post and am wondering if there are a few different production models. Ours has the ribbed fabric (our neighbors ordered one after seeing ours and theirs has the ribbed fabric as well). We have ours pushed up against the wall next to a full wall of cabinets. Our 12 lb cat often climbs the outside of the tower like King Kong but has never toppled the tower (maybe the thicker ribbed fabric makes it more secure?). It has received a lot of play time and still looks good after having it since June of 2012 (no shreds). We’ve never regretted spending the money on this and our cat has never been bored with it yet!
We have these cubes and not only are they beautiful but my cats love them! The material that they are covered in isn’t the sturdiest, but the fact that it doesn’t shred all over my floor or collect cat hair is more important to me! I buy a new one every year for the cats for Christmas, so I take the cubes with the least amount of wear and put them together though out the house for them to use. I honestly love it probably as much as my cats do!!
