Sarah from Chevy Chase, Maryland sent in these photos of her daughter Julia’s recent Catification project. Julia has a very sleek black and white room (gorgeous!) so clearly any old cat tree won’t do (wise girl!) When Julia got a new loft bed, the family’s four cats couldn’t reach the bed, so they had to come up with a customized solution.
They hired local carpenter Ric Simmons to build and install simple white boxes that the cats can use for perching and as a way to get up to the loft bed. Black carpeting completes the look and keeps the cats from slipping. Now the kitties can snuggle with Julia and everyone is happy!
I love seeing projects like this that involve kids at an early age! We have to teach the next generation that caring for animals is important and rewarding. Great job Sarah and Julia!

This is sooo sweet and so awesome! I love that her family is supportive of her love for her cats. And she has such good design style at such a young age!!
OMG! Is there a hedgehog version of this available?
The world needs a LOT more of this kind of people. Wonderful!!! and gorgeous cats, too 😉
What an idea!! Guess I am not smarter than a fifth grader! !
One question, how do they attach to the wall?
