I’m always on the lookout for attractive kitty hideaways, so I’m excited to find The Cat Spool. Handmade in South Portland, Maine, The Cat Spool gives kitty a perfect place to curl up inside, plus the outer surface can be used for scratching. Each one is handmade with birch plywood and overall has a nice natural, modern look.
Inside there’s a fluffy pillow that can be machine washed. One style is covered with a heavy sisal carpet and another with cream colored faux ostrich skin vinyl, which would be easy to wipe down and looks very nice, but doesn’t offer a scratching surface.
