Have you ever thought about what kind of wardrobe would match your cat’s personality? Would she dress like you or would she have a completely different style? Well, one day artist Heather Mattoon imagined her cat wearing a little peacoat, and she just had to paint it. Then she was hooked. Heather now has a whole series of paintings of Cats in Clothes, and each one is funnier than the last.
Heather’s artwork was included in the recent Cat Art Show LA, which is where I saw it for the first time. Her works have been presented in a variety of solo and group exhibitions around the country and are included in several private collections worldwide. Cats in Clothes fine art prints and original paintings are available from Heather’s website www.heathermattoon.com/catsinclothes and also from her Etsy shop.
Heather also does custom pet portraits so you can decide exactly what your cat will be wearing!
Other fun stuff available from Heather’s Etsy shop includes a set of 8 mini-print postcards or a little magnet set.
I love your work, you really capture the Kitty’s personalities so well and then by choosing such unique clothing/outfits it really adds so much, so grateful I got to see your work. Thank you.
I love these! Absolutly Darling!
These prints are adorable! What a great idea. I paint also, and I have never thought to do something like that. Now, I keep looking at my 4 cats and 1 kitten and I’m picturing what kind of clothes they would wear. What a fun idea too. Thanks for sharing these great prints.
