There are a lot of innovations happening right now in litter and this is one of my favorites! I’ve been using the new SmartCat Clumping Cat Litter from Pioneer Pet for several months now and I absolutely love it! It’s my new favorite and this is your chance to win some to try for yourself! This week TWO lucky winners will each receive two 20 lb. bags of the new SmartCat Clumping Litter! That’s a huge value, considering that this litter lasts a really long time, even with multiple cats.
So, what’s it made of you ask? Grass! Yes, this is a completely new concept and it really works! The litter is not nearly as heavy as clay, plus is clumps very well, doesn’t stick to the bottom of the box, it’s chemical free, and it controls odors, too. The best part is that it’s made from a totally renewable and biodegradable material. It’s a winner!
The SmartCat clumping litter is available in 10 and 20 lb. bags from the Pioneer Pet website, and in 5 and 10 lb. bags from Amazon.

An interesting and excellent idea! Just wish some of these “clay alternative” litters would be competitively priced. Most of us in the real word can’t afford all the high-priced types, especially with multiple cats.
I see biodegradable, is it also flushable?
I have 11 cats, which I think is the same number that you have. If so, how many pounds do you have to buy to last for a month? And how much does that cost?
Thanks!
Ditto, but not with the 11 cats. I want more specifics on what is in it. Blue’s Walnut based Cat Litter has become the
best we can get in natural that also holds downs smells in a humid summer. We have bugs in this humidity so I am
more concerned about what a product is made from than before.
I’ve tried probably five “natural” clumping litters in the past two years, and one thing seems to be an inevitable constant: really bad dust. I hope this one is better in that regard.
Very curious about this litter, but would also like to know if it’s flushable before trying it out. I’m using the walnut litter as well, and it’s been great, but is slowly staining the edges of my bathroom brown. Haha.
I would love to try this but as a student my budget is pretty tight. I can refill my clay litter bucket at Petco for $10 for 30lb – $0.33 per pound. A 20-lb bag of SmartCat is $27 plus $5 shipping, or $1.60 per pound (or, on Amazon, a 10-lb bag is $16 and free shipping… so still $1.60 per pound). If SmartCat is so “light,” does that mean that a pound of SmartCat might have a ton more volume than a pound of clay litter? If anybody knows how the volumes compare, please chime in.
I LOVE kitty litter! I like to use it as air freshener! All you have to do is make cookies and put a little in the mix. That way, you get that great kitty litter scent in your home and it will freshen your guests breath.
