Attention all architecture enthusiasts in the Los Angeles area, here’s an event you won’t want to miss! Architects for Animals has been hosting the “Giving Shelter” event for several years in New York City, and now they’re bringing it to LA. This event features the creations of professional architecture and design firms who take on the challenge of building beautiful and functional outdoor cat shelters. As you can see from the photos of past events, there are always some pretty spectacular designs!
The Los Angeles event will benefit one of my favorite organizations, FixNation, who provides free spay-neuter services for community cats in the LA area. FixNation does incredible work and I’m thrilled that they are the beneficiaries of this wonderful event!
Don’t Miss Out! Wednesday, September 10 in Culver City
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 10! All of the shelter designs will be on display at the Herman Miller Showroom in Culver City from from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Join the designers and other special guests (including the one and only Jackson Galaxy who is a board member of FixNation) for a cocktail reception and to see the designs in person. Tickets are $25 each with all proceeds benefitting FixNation. Purchase your tickets online now, and check out the other sponsorship opportunities at FixNation.org.
Tell Mr. Galaxy to get his butt over to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. My cats are angels, but I would really love to give this miracle worker a hug!
EXCITING on every level 😉 and giving huge props to my hometown heroes, FixNation <3
Please post pictures in an email! Thanks.
This sounds like a great event. Please send photos afterwards! How I wish I could be there, except I live in Oregon. SIGH. Used to live in SoCal and wish I could move back.
Is Jackson Galaxy (or anyone else) bringing any cats to test out the designs? I have a very calm, clean, well behaved indoor cat that I have brought to smallish public events (book launch parties, art gallery openings). He is good with medium crowds of people in an indoor setting.
Might I bring him (in a pet carrier) to this event to test out some of the designs? Please advise.
Thank you.
