I’ve told you recently about several new high-tech devices that are designed to improve the lives of our cats, but this one is unlike any other I’ve seen so far. Introducing Tailio, a device that lets you use technology to monitor your cat’s health in order to get them the care they need before serious health issues arise.
Simply place your regular litter box on top of Tailio and the device will monitor your cat’s weight and litter box habits, both important health indicators. You’ll be able to track changes over time and identify any unusual behaviors so you can take your cat to the vet for additional testing when the situation might require it. For instance, weight loss can be an indicator of several different health concerns. Tailio collects data and alerts you when significant changes are found.
Tailio connects to your home wireless network allowing you to monitor and share data with other family members and with your vet. By measuring your cat’s weight, their visits to the litter box, and the weight of what they leave behind in the box, you’ll have all the information your need at your fingertips to track any changes.
Stay Connected
The smart phone app for both iOS and Andriod will let you stay connected with your cat’s health wherever you are. You can setup a health profile for your cat, set reminders and alerts, and share informantion with family, friends and caretakers.
Multiple Cats
What about multiple cats? Tailio is so smart that it will automatically distinguish between multiple cats in the home and track data for each one separately. If you have multiple litter boxes, they do recommend having a Tailio for each box, but this is such a smart idea, I imagine this could become standard technology in all litter boxes of the future!
Support Tailio on Kickstarter
Pet Wireless, the company behind Tailio, has already invented some serious time and effort into the development of this product. Now they are looking to fund the last step to take it into production so they are running a Kickstarter campaign and offering some very sweet deals if you support them. They have already reached their first goal and now they are working toward their stretch goals in order to add other features, so there’s still time for you to make a contribution and be one of the first to get this new device to try with your cats. Please visit the Tailio Kickstarter page to read more about the project and see the perks you can get for contributing. There are only 7 days left to help them out, and perks are selling out, so don’t wait!
This innovation seems like a great idea….even though I try to keep everything simple without gadgets. We all love our kitties, I have 3 indoor only kitties now. I also have some stray and ferals that I feed and take care of. Perhaps you could feature some ideas for them too……outdoor kitties are so ignored by many….and so many throw-away kitties that were once house kitties and turned out.
Thank you
Thank you, Carol. Our philosophy is to build a fundamental technology that solves a real problem – cats are naturally stoic and instinctively conceal signs of illness, and cat parents often miss signs of disease. So we feel that Tailio is not another gadget with an app, not a superficial but deep – we hope you see that too.
It’s admirable that you take care of strays and ferals! I’ll put my head to outdoor kitties.
Our best to your 3 kitties 🙂
This seems to be an excellent use of technology! I look for to learning more about it.
Thanks so much, Kimberly!
Please ask questions here https://www.facebook.com/gotailio or via email tailio@petwireless.com – happy to engage in a conversation, and learn as much about your kitties and their behavior and share about Tailio.
What will they think of next?!!
🙂
THIS is destined to be something wonderful for many felines! Reading about this and watching all the videos made me wish so hard that I would have had one of these before my Saki passed away in July. I would have been alerted to the subtle trend in her weight loss LONG before she got passed the point of no return. I didn’t think Tailio would work for me being that we have more than one cat, but then I read further. It’s actually smart enough to keep each kitteh’s weight and movements separate! WOW… just… WOW. Tailio will truly be a God send to many slaves of cats (LOL). Thank you, Mr. Treiner, for such a brilliant, innovative, and loving idea. You definitely get 3 Claws up from me! >^..^<
Donna, sorry to hear about loss of Saki…
You made my day by reading and understanding Tailio – thanks for taking the time and patients, the product is not trivial to explain.
And humbly grateful for the 3 claws 🙂
Alex
This is excellent! My husband and I lost our 15 yr old tabby to renal failure and our 18 yr old black domestic cat to chylothorax. This tool would have quickly found the weight loss and litter box behavior differences much sooner than we did and would have eased their illnesses. Kudos!
Cheryl, sorry for your loss… We all have been there, unfortunately.
Our team will keep working hard to earn your kind words
