I’ve been doing some redecorating lately and I pulled out one of my most favorite pieces, a reproduction of the Persian cat sculpture by Richard Recchia. Apparently, when this sculpture was first exhibited in Boston in 1931 it was quite controversial due to it’s abstract nature. Over time it has become a cherished classic.
You can purchase a cast resin replica of Recchia’s Persian cat sculpture through the Boston Museum of Fine Arts’ website for $58.
Gorgeous photos! I was given one of these as a gift and it’s displayed prominently in one of my curio cabinets. Beautiful!
It’s really lovely, you should always have it on display. Thanks for sharing.
Love it! It’s adorable and whimsical!
I have an 18 inch fat cat that says RH Recchia 1931 C on the back and nothing else. What does that mean and possible value? Ty
