One of the artists featured in the Cats & Guitars Art Show is Pepe Shimada from Fukuoka, Japan. Mr. Shimada’s cat paintings often include cats playing instruments and doing other human activities while wearing solemn expressions. This combination makes for a wonderfully entertaining body of work.
Bright colors and serene backgrounds further add to the enjoyable images. Some of Mr. Shimada’s cats snap photographs, sip tea and play with puppets (cat puppets, of course!)
You can see more of Pepe Shimada’s work at pepeshimada.blogspot.com and purchase his paintings on Etsy through his art rep in Hong Kong.
Mr. Shimada’s original paintings sell for $650 to $1,000, but if that’s not in your budget, you can also find is whimsical cats on notebooks, tote bags, and plastic folders at much more affordable prices. You can also purchase a set of 6 postcards featuring his Cats in Hong Kong series for just under $12.
I can’t even handle how cute those are.
Hi, where can I buy the products? The links to Etsy is not working.
