Jackson Galaxy is launching a new project tonight and he wants you to be there! Operation Homeward Bound is Jackson’s new project through the Jackson Galaxy Foundation and it’s poised to help a whole lot of cats. Jackson, along with his wife, Minoo, will be personally transporting dozens of cats and kittens 1,000 miles from the Best Friends Animal Society shelter in Los Angeles, where they are currently bursting at the seams with cats, to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in Boulder, Colorado, where there is currently a kitten shortage due to awesome adoption numbers. The goal is to raise critical awareness and funds to enable the foundation to continue creating life-saving programs and partnerships with shelters across the country.
They’re are packing up the van in LA tonight at 7pm PST and Jackson will be live streaming via the Jackson Galaxy Foundation Facebook page, telling you more about the project, these specific kittens and how you can get involved. If you love cats (and if you love Jackson!) make sure to watch!
This makes me smile through a very unsmiley day! And even though I must admit to being somewhat envious, like I’ll bet a lot of us cat-loving women are, isn’t it fitting that Jackson Galaxy would have a wife named MINOO?!! 😉 *Get ’em HOME, guys!*
This is so awesome of them to do this for the cats. We were caring for and doing TNR in a rural mobile home park in Iowa where homes are so hard to find. I searched out farmers to take them and give them the feeding stations and shelter but the farms don’t want them. So many cats here in Iowa. I would love to know more about Colorado’s adoption services and rates. That would be a so interesting read. This is a older article but I’m sure I could find it on ROKU or on Jackson’s foundation page. What a wonderful act of kindness for our cats. Kudos to you and your wife
