We received some startling news, the Ikea Stolmen system is being discontinued, which is devastating to me because, if you’ve ever seen any of my Catification design work you know, I’m a huge fan of the system for use with cat climbing shelves, like those from Franklin Cat Furniture.
Well, the folks over at Franklin aren’t going to let this prevent them from continuing to offer beautiful modern cat climbing options. They just launched a new and improved pole system for use with the Hollywood Franklin Cat Tower, and you can get 10% off now through August 14, 2016.
It looks like the new system works the same way the Stolmen system did, allowing you to adjust the height and position the shelves by attaching them to a central pole with sturdy metal brackets. I haven’t tried the new pole myself yet, but it let’s hope that it’s a good alternative to the Stolmen.
Visit FranklinCatFurniture.com to take advantage of the 10% off savings, plus you’ll get a FREE kit 1 step with every order, too!
Oh no! I didn’t know about Stolmen being discontinued. I bought the sisal rope to make the floor to ceiling post from Catification and was planning a trip to Ikea to pick up the post. Sad cats!
Of course, I’m glad to hear Franklin has identified a substitute for their system.
I think the stores still have some in stock!
I only see one post in stock in CA and not sure if I should drive 4 hrs to San Diego in hopes that it’s still there. Ah well, on the upside, I have plenty of rope for future craft projects!
Disappointing move from IKEA, but glad that our fave Franklin has found a fix for all cat fans out here! *And thanks for the heads up on IKEA*
