These two new cat beds from K&H Manufacturing are blowing my mind! I saw them at SuperZoo and was really excited about them. These beds are made from soft but sturdy molded foam and they attach to any window with giant suction cups. There are so many great things about this design! First, it creates the perfect window perch for cats to watch what’s going on outside, plus they are easy to install and reposition without any hardware. I haven’t tried these myself yet, but I’ve had very good luck with the Sunny Seat, the original window-mounted cat bed that attaches with similar suction cups.
There are two styles, an enclosed pod bed with openings on both sides (CORRECTION: there is only one opening and you can hang the bed so the opening faces left or right) that measures 20″ x 20″ x 27″. There’s also an open top bed that measures 11″ x 11″ x 27″. Both come in green or beige with black trim and a soft pad included inside. And here’s the best part! They’re both under $50!

These look exceptionally comfortable and attractive! I do wonder how they’d hold up, though, with rather large active cats jumping in and out of them. 😉
That’s my thought exactly! I have a kitten and a large older cat who likes using furniture as a launching pad. LOL
I have one of the cat pods. They adhere to the window really well. However the inside is small and would only be good for a very tiny cat or kitten. Since there is only an entrance on one side the cat is unable to turn around once inside this pod. I bought this pod because it looks really neat. But had to take it down when neither cat I was able to really fit into it. It needs to be about twice as deep. Also the inside kind of angles a bit to the window so the cat doesn’t have a really even platform for curling up. I have photos but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere for me to post them in my comments.
I also want to correct the description of the enclosed pod bed. There is only an opening on one side, not on both sides. Depending on how you hang it you can have the opening face left or face rig but there is only one opening. It is that issue that is primary in making the pod so awkward for a cat of average size.
PS, my cat that I bought this for is full-size adult of about 10-12 pounds.
Thank you, Stephanie! I thought I remembered two openings, which would be ideal. Just one opening makes the design a little less awesome.
Could a second opening be cut out on the other side?
I have a really fat cat I don’t know if he’d fit into this let alone be able to jump and it hold on to the window, btw he’s healthy just when we got him fixed he started growing out lol
The material from which it is constructed is quite sturdy. If you wanted to add another opening you would likely need some box cutters and elbow grease.
We had a lot of trouble with the sunny seat – we had reviewed it on our blog a long time ago and it was great the first day, but then it kept sliding down the window – the suction cups wouldn’t exactly pop off – they just didn’t stay in place. It did this even when the cat wasn’t on it. I have heard other cat owners recently haven’t had any issues with the sunny seat, so maybe they updated their suction cups. I would love to try these window pods but I have two larger cats that aren’t exactly gentle when jumping so I would be nervous they A) wouldn’t fit and B) it wouldn’t hold them. IT would probably be ok for our girl cat.
I have both styles and they are very well made and the suction cups stick to the windows so well!!! My little 7 pound Siamese is the only one of my cats that has tried them and uses them, but I am optimistic that the rest will eventually get curious.
Yikes! Over $40+ Not sure it works be worth it
Love the style, but from what I have read so far, 1) my giant Maine Coon would not fit in the bed, and 2) the bed probably will not support a 25 pound cat. I love my big boys, but finding cat trees and beds that are sized for Maine Coons is always a challenge.
We got two inexpensive cat hammocks, not half as cool of these BUT they DO stay put, and have done for (actually) YEARS! So I have no doubt these will stay put. They look fabulous! I need at least four!
Where can you get these
