What happens when two graduates of Parsons School of Design living in a small NYC apartment adopt a pair of kittens? Magic! The husband and wife team behind Ailuros Workshop started creating all kinds of unique climbing structures for their two rambunctious cats, expanding the useable space in their small apartment so the cats could have places to run and play.
Their SQUARAL Cat Tree uses a tension pole mounting system (similar to the beloved Ikea Stolmen system, which is no longer available). SQUARAL is a modern spiral staircase that maximizes floor space, allowing cats to easily climb to higher levels. Each step is covered in sisal carpet to prevent slipping and you can custom order additional sections to expand the tree to fit taller ceilings.
The Cat Pole is also mounted with a tension pole from floor to ceiling with thick sisal rope wrapped around a solid wood column. You can add optional landings to the Cat Pole to create resting spots for climbing kitties.
The collection also includes a Cat Staircase, a canvas Cat Bridge and more. Create a totally customized cat climbing heaven in any space! Visit the Ailuros Workshop Etsy shop to see all the options.

Pure joy for cats! and those who love them.
Stolman is no longer available?!?!?!
I love this staircase!
I love that cat staircase. That would be very lovely for fun and play and the sisal carpet is a really good addition for added safety.
I love these! The staircase especially. My older kitty has recently become sight impaired. I wonder if she could safely navigate this? I wish I had found it while she could still see well.
