Here’s a line of beautifully handcrafted pet furniture that may make you jealous of your cat! Texas-based Cairu Design is run by furniture designer Joel Chesney. Joel is an artist who, after a stint working at Ikea, decided to start making his own furniture. And thank heavens he did, because these creations are some of the nicest I’ve seen!
Joel handcrafts each piece in his studio using bent plywood with real walnut veneer. The veneer is left unstained and is finished with clear lacquer, allowing the natural beauty of the wood veneer to show through but still making it easy to care for the furniture. Top quality cushions with removable, washable micro fiber covers come is gorgeous modern colors to compliment the clean, mid-century modern lines.

Beautiful. Thought that would be great for the cat room until I saw the price. After years of use, my dogs destroyed my own sofa and I did think of getting a cat-sized one for the cat room. But at those prices, unfortunately (for them), it won’t happen. Maybe if I win the lottery! Great to see someone is doing it here though.
