These stunning wood cat sculptures took my breath away when I first saw them. They are the work of French sculptor Perry Lancaster who hand carves each one from a variety of sustainably harvested timber.
The streamlined designs have so much character. You’ll find sculptures of crouching cat, fat cats with tails up, tall sitting cats and cats curled up sleeping, each one more charming than the last.
The different wood grains and colors shine through a natural wax finish. Beautiful woods like ebony, wild cherry, wenge, and rosewood create lovely textures and patterns that can look like the markings on a cat.
Perry’s beautiful wood cat sculptures can be found in select galleries in the U.K. and they are available from his Etsy shop, where he posts new offerings all the time. I believe he can even do a custom request for you.
