In anticipation of finishing my last round of chemotherapy for breast cancer I decided to get a henna crown just for fun. With the warmer weather upon us, hats and wigs were starting to become uncomfortable and I had seen some fantastic henna crown designs, but of course I wanted to incorporate a cat into the artwork.
I visited the Henna Shoppe in Tempe, AZ and was thrilled to find out that they do henna crowns at no charge for people currently undergoing chemotherapy. This is a wonderful thing and I would like to thank the owner of the Henna Shoppe and the henna artist, Cece, for giving me this special gift.
Chemotherapy is a rough thing to go through for anyone, not to mention that having cancer is financially draining, so to be able to get a piece of such beautiful body art is a lovely treat.
I brought in photos of several henna crown designs and some cat illustrations and Cece put together this incredible piece of art on the spot. I love it!
The Henna Shoppe has six locations in the greater Phoenix area.
I love your crown, I wish that had been available while I went thru Chemo. Congrats on finishing your treatments. Good health to you!

It’s gorgeous! You’re gorgeous! Power on.
You look beautiful!
Also, I love scarves and found this great site: Wrapunzel.com. They do these amazing head wraps – really pretty and fun. And they have a foundation that gives a free head wrap kit to cancer warriors: http://wrapunzelfoundation.org/current-projects/
It is just another option for you to play with – I loves scarves and wear them sometimes!
That is so cool! I hope you are feeling better. Well done!

I love hearing that the Henna Shoppe offers a free service to a group that deserves one. I’ve watched the agony that chemo causes from winessing my boyfriend’s father go through it. Best wishes on your treatment!

Lovely, wonderful and powerful! …. Holding you in healing lights!
Beautiful work of art. Praying that you have a full and speedy recovery.
I had never seen one of these before and I volunteer at a camp for children with cancer so I immediately sent your email to the staff of the camp. I am thinking that it would be really wonderful to have some henna artists visit our camp this summer to do some magic for any of our campers who might be currently without hair.
Wishing you the best of health….
Dear Kate,
