I’m always on the lookout for products designed specifically for senior cats or cats with mobility issues and this is a good one! The Kitty Box Ramp is for cats who have difficulty getting into and out of the litter box, guiding cats up a gentle ramp so they can easily step into the litter box.
This is a good solution for senior cats, cats will mobility issues or even tiny kittens who can’t get over the edge of a regular litter box. The Kitty Box Ramp can be adjusted to three different heights so it will work with practically any litter box. The tall sides of the ramp keep cats from falling off the edge and a removable, replaceable tread pad prevents slipping. Made from corrugated cardboard and available in three colors: blue, gray and lavender.
The company sent me one to test and it’s fairly easy to assemble, the height adjustment is quite brilliant, and the cardboard is relatively sturdy, although the cardboard is on the thin side. There is a “tongue” that attaches to the ramp and slides under the litter box so the weight of the box keeps the ramp in place. If your cat is having difficulty getting in and out of the litter box, this could be the solution you’re looking for!

I don’t see that this will help with getting out of the litter box. Senior kitty will have to reach up to get to ramp and I don’t know that many seniors that are set in their ways will want to walk through a tunnel to get to a litter box. I found with my girls to just cut down the entrances or even better use a boot tray or large cookie sheet so they don’t have to turn around or jump up or down.
I agree with the previous comments. That’s a long narrow ramp and you still have to get out of the box. I have a handicapped cat- a muscle disorder with the symptom of weak leg muscles. I have some folded up towels on the floor along the long side of the litter box, and it’s not a very high sided box. She has her routine all worked out with it and although she might trip a bit getting out of the box she stumbles onto the soft towels, but likes to lie down a take a break there. Getting in the box is no problem. I don’t think the ramp would be of any help. It looks confining.
Your litter box should have several inches of litter in it, meaning the step out onto the ramp is several inches less than the step in . One could fill the box to within a couple of inches from the top.
