I would like to introduce the newest member of the Hauspanther family! Meet Jeremiah Beandip, a tiny hauspanther who has stolen our hearts!
This little guy was born in a warehouse near our studio with his three siblings. The mom cat hadn’t been seen in a few days so a fellow cat loving friend and I ran over and scooped them up as soon as we got the call. They looked to be three to four weeks old (ears up, eyes open and incisors and canines in) but they were very underweight, only 200 to 250 grams, the normal size of a 1 to 2 week old kitten.
I set my cat lady network in motion and secured a spot for them in a foster home so they can eventually go to La Gattara Cat Lounge & Boutique in Tempe, AZ to be adopted. As you may know, I lost my soulmate hauspanther, Ando, last year, and my heart was still breaking over it, so when this one tiny black kitten reached up and meowed for me to hold him, I couldn’t help but think that Ando might have sent him. We weren’t planning on adding a kitten to our family but how could I say no?
Bottle-feeding Kittens
Because Jeremiah was so underweight when we found him, he has required bottle feeding to get him caught up. Here’s the deal, I had never bottle-fed anything. Ever. I’m not sure how I avoided it this long, but Jeremiah was going to be my first.
I’ve been a huge fan of Hannah Shaw, aka Kitten Lady, since I first met her a few years ago. I had, of course, looked at her website and seen some of her videos, enough to know what she does and that she is very good at it. I even designed a custom climber for her kitten nursery and filmed a DIY kitten toy video with her when she came to visit. But I hadn’t really poured over the educational content she’s created, until now.
I’m here to tell you that if you’ve never bottle-fed a kitten before, Hannah’s website and videos are an absolute godsend! I immediately read the Getting Started section on kittenlady.org, and then watched the video on bottle-feeding kittens. These are invaluable resources for anyone who finds themselves with an orphaned neo-natal kitten. Please check out everything she does at kittenlady.org and on the Kitten Lady YouTube channel.
Thank you, Hannah, for all you do! You are truly making a difference in this world for cats and the people who love them!
Hannah also has two books coming out this year! Tiny But Mighty: Kitten Lady’s Guide to Saving the Most Vulnerable Felines will be released in August and her children’s book, Kitten Lady’s Big Book of Little Kittens will be out in October. Both are available for pre-order now on Amazon.com.
Want more Jeremiah Beandip?
Jeremiah will be making regular appearances on Hauspanther, you can be sure of that. He is full of personality, just like Ando was. If you just can’t get enough of him, he does have his own Instagram account if you want to follow along @JeremiahBeandip.
Ando will never be replaced, but I get the feeling that he might have had something to do with this.

A match made in heaven! Thank you Ando! I do believe in angels of all forms! I hope to meet Jeremiah someday! Already following this little precious one. I am so glad he is with you!
sometimes you get what you need even if you are really ready
He’s gorgeous!!
Love the name, too! And I’m 100% sure Ando was involved in this…
Look forward to seeing more him! (Will you call him JB for short?)
Jeremiah Beandip is adorable. But I know there has to be a story behind the name!? Inquiring minds want to know!
I am so happy that Ando sent Jermiah Beandip to you!!! Love and blessings to you and your family!
Sorry I spelled Jeremiah’s name wrong!
Congratulations on your new family member. I’m a firm believer that the best tribute you can give a pet who
has passed is to rescue another in his/her honor.
Congratulations on your new little boy! He will be so loved, I am happy for you both. I agree — Ando didn’t want you to be sad forever, and he sent you a tiny piece of his heart.
WELCOME, tiny panfur Jeremiah Beandip! You have found yourself in one of the very best families there is. Live long and prosPURR in safety, comfort, and love! *Angel ANDO, I am sure, is beaming* <3
Congratulations on the new addition Jeremiah Beandip! Glad you found such great advice on bottle-feeding kittens. It can be daunting, but oh so rewarding.
Jeremiah Beandip is precious! You will be super bonded with all the feedings. Ando certainly had a paw in this, and surely would approve. Life is incomplete if you are without a black cat.
Congrats, Kate!
I DEFINITELY think Ando had something to do with this! Welcome Jeremiah!! OMC that name is to die for “Jeremiah Beandip” too cute!!!!!! I adopted Cody two weeks after my 18 year old soul kitty (who I had since he was 6 months old), passed and I felt guilty and mentioned it to my vet. My Vet said “you aren’t REPLACING Bobo, no kitty ever could, you are MAKING NEW MEMORIES with Cody”………..he told me that Bobo would have wanted Cody to be given the same love that Bobo had and I was certain that Bobo sent him to me to help heal my broken heart. He has a completely different personality than my Bobo had, and that turned out to be a GOOD thing, Cody proved to be a God-send, special in his own right,…………just like Jeremiah will be!!!
What a cutie! Can’t wait to see more of him.
Congrats and welcome, Jeremiah Beandip! How absolutely adorable! So what is the story on how he got his name?
Of course Ando had something to do with it! Congrats, and enjoy every moment of kitten hood…they grow so fast. Looking forward to following along!
Jeremiah is absolutely PRECIOUS! He reminds me of my baby, @Kitty_Leela who came into my own life just 2 months after losing Sita, (the reason I first signed up with you!) in a fire and just days after getting home from the hospital after a heart attack. My baby was also estimated at 3 weeks at the most, a very very sick ball of orange fur that I was told by vets wouldn’t make it. After months spent in a rocking chair with her and a bottle, many sleepless nights and days and my doctor friend pitching a FIT that Leela was the last thing I needed in my life; it’s now over 4 years later. Leela is now a 15lb ball of long orange fur who’s the most loving, intelligent cat I’ve ever known. My Doctor friend STILL pitches a fit about how spoiled Leela is…personally, I think he’s just jealous. 😁
Congratulations on your new baby! Bottle-feeding and raising a bitty critter is probably one of the most rewarding hard jobs you could ever do. I’ve been caring for orphaned critters since before I co-founded a wildlife rescue and rehab at age 17…over 51 years ago. Although I ended up going into human medicine, I never stopped having a part with my critters; never will. Love him, nurse him, play with him…Ando is grinning cheek to cheek watching and VERY happy that this baby has such great human slaves. 😁
