I had to share this incredible design for a cat meet & greet area designed by artist Diana Clauss for All About Animals Rescue! The rescue brought 60 adoptable cats to the Phoenix Feline Fanciers Christmas Cat Show in Mesa, AZ this weekend. The cats were set-up in the lobby in these beautifully decorated cages and Diana and her husband created this freestanding enclosure where people can visit with cats one-on-one to get to know each other better.
The structure was created with an 8′ by 4′ by 6′ tall outdoor dog enclosure as the base. To create the winder wonderland gingerbread house look, they added walls and a roof made from white foam core covered with 1300 cardboard circles, all painted in various shades of blue and white and hot glued to the foam core. The decorated panels are securely attached to the metal frame and white gingerbread trim, fluffy white “snowballs” and some sparkly garlands finish off the look. We’re working on some Catification ideas for the inside for next year!
This is a great example of how to dress up a cat adoption area with serious style, and it lead to almost two dozen adoptions!
A beautiful, seasonal, attracting venue! Maybe each of the circles could have the name of a cat who has found a loving forever family and home?
