I’m always on the lookout for beautiful, functional litter boxes and this is one of my favorites! Introducing Cove, a modern litter box designed by the team over at Tuft+Paw. Cove has some very innovative features along with a sleek, minimal form that sets a new standard for litter box design.
Cove addresses several top concerns when it comes to litter box design. First, the shape makes it very easy to scoop with no hard-to-reach corners, plus it’s made from non-toxic, recycled plastic, which is durable and easy to clean. A sturdy rubber bottom keeps the box from sliding on hard floors.
The part that excites me most is that they designed in the most important litter tools — the scoop plus a dustpan and a hand brush for sweeping up scattered litter. All three fit ingeniously in storage compartments built into the box. The scoop is also engineered with angled slots to make sifting much faster.
This next part makes me absolutely giddy, because this is a huge issue and I’ve never seen a good solution before. The compartments holding the scoop and the dustpan are removable so you can easily clean out any debris that falls inside. It’s the little things that make me happy.
Cove measures 22″ x 16″ x 6″ with vertical walls instead of sloping in like regular litter boxes, giving it a larger feel. Cove will sell for $149, but you can score some great savings buy supporting them on Kickstarter with Early Bird rewards starting at $99. Visit the Cove Kickstarter Campaign to see all the rewards and help make this modern litter box a reality!

Just ordered one, looking forward to it with my #5boys, ty!!
The Cove litterbox is very nice! I’m glad they included the scoop, brush and dustpan and made receptacles for them instead of having them outside the box. Only one improvement I would like to see — make the scoop metal.
It doesn’t look like the sides are high enough. I have kitties that like to stand a little higher and they pee over the side. Other than that I love the design.
The sides are too low, and the overall size is too small. The onboard tools and rubber bottom are a nice touch. May be good for smaller cats and spaces, but let’s admit it, no one puts the litter pan out as part of the decor, no matter how attractive it is.
I guess I would argue that in a smaller space you don’t really have a choice but to incorporate the litter box into the decor, so the smaller size could work well in that situation.
box is way too small. cat can basically only stand in the middle and dig on the edges. a perfect litter box would be twice that size with 10″ high sides for those cats (like some of mine) that think they need to stand up to pee. the front of the perfect box would have a “dip” so kitty could enter easily. i actually use “mud mixing pans” for litter boxes. both size choices work perfectly in different areas and they are very reasonably priced. their only drawback is the sides aren’t high enough so i shape metal flashing around the inside on three sides. https://www.lowes.com/search?searchTerm=mud+mixing+pans
Interesting ideas. I like the little broom and easy cleaning. However, it’s too small. I have to buy giant boxes with high sides. I would also love to see litter boxes come in cool colors and patterns. If someone will sell a leopard print giant litter box I will buy several.
I would love to buy this, but I need to wash out the litter boxes in a utility room sink which is 18″x18″. If you ever come out with a smaller version, or say, have the side compartments detachable, let me know.
