It’s been awhile since I introduced a new natural cat litter since I can be pretty picky, plus living with 14 cats gives me lots of opportunity to really get to know how well different litters work. I have a new one that I’m really excited to share with you. Sustainably Yours is a newer offering in the natural, plant-based, non-clay litter category and I guarantee this litter will significantly change how you think about the litter box.
Sustainably Yours is made from a special blend of corn and cassava, two natural crops that are renewable and biodegradable. The specially prepared corn has exceptional odor-fighting properties that instantly neutralize offensive odors without any added chemicals or fragrances. Cassava is naturally rich in starch that, when paired with corn starch, creates extremely solid clumps to make scooping much easier. The clumps encapsulate odors so you can easily remove them without breaking or crumbling.
There are two types of Sustainably Yours, Multi-cat and Multi-cat Plus. Both are very low dust and almost pure white–whiter than any other natural litter–making it easier to see any changes in your cat’s urine that might signal a health issue. The Multi-Cat has a small granule for fast clumping and the Multi-cat Plus has a very fine granule plus extra cassava for even faster clumping and maximum odor control.
Another important factor in choosing a cat litter is tracking. While no litter has ever really solved this issue completely, I’ve found that Sustainably Yours has minimal tracking compared to other litters I’ve used. It is also very low dust, making scooping less unpleasant.
Sustainably Yours is flushable with some caveats: you must let clumps soak for 15 minutes before flushing, and remember some parasites that can be found in cat feces may be harmful to certain mammals when flushed, and please be aware, flushing any cat litter is illegal in the state of California.
Sustainably Yours is committed to doing their part to protect the planet, so a portion of every purchase is donated to The Rainforest Trust, an organization that acquires acreage in threatened rainforests worldwide to protect and sustain natural habitats.

I really, really like Sustainably Yours and am thrilled to see new advances like it on the market. And don’t just take my word for it! Everyone’s favorite Cat Daddy, Jackson Galaxy, LOVES Sustainably Yours, too!

This sounds like a promising litter on most counts, but these so-called “natural alternatives” need to bring their prices down to be competitive with our natural scooping clay litters, which our cats have used and liked for years with no problems whatsoever. The corn is a great choice because of its natural light, sweet smell, too.
Sorry…great idea but with 6 cats & being on SS, things like this are just way too far out of our budget! Why is it the natural, good for the cats & planet are simply not affordable, unless you are wealthy?
Looks like it may be a rebranding of Garfield Cat Litter, which has become harder to find (used to get it at Kroger, but have had to order it from Amazon for a while now). It is much better than any other I’ve used, and I’ve used most of them. The cats like it, and it clumps harder than any other litter. I find there is less wasted litter, as it’s easy to scoop out the used clumps and solid waste, and it doesn’t track around the house. It does cost more, but my experience is that it lasts long enough to make up for the price difference. Just my opinion. Good to know I can find it at my Pet Supplies Plus, which is next door to the Kroger I used to buy the Garfield litter at.
I agree with JMUHJ’s previous comment about the pricing should be lower. I currently use Swheat Scoop & World’s Best natural litters as well as scoopable clay since I foster for a rescue & have multiple litter boxes. I prefer the naturals, but am limited as to how much I can purchase due to the higher price on these. Would love to try your litter if you could get the pricing down or offer some other incentives, especially to rescues.
I wonder what the carbon footprint of a product like this is? This is what has kept me from using other “sustainable” pellets…often the carbon footprint is massive, which isn’t really offsetting the clay litter.
