These incredible spiral cat trees are handmade by true cat lovers who seriously considered every aspect of how cats climb when they designed them. Chicago-based Milly Fitcat was created when their cat Milly needed a spiral staircase to replace the one she no longer had access to after the family moved. After making several prototypes, this final stunning design is now available for cats everywhere.
The design does not include carpet, making it easy to clean and providing a sleek modern look. You could add small pieces of a non-slip material to the steps and still keep it looking nice. The tree comes in four sizes: 9-steps at 43″ tall, 12-steps at 55″ tall, 15-steps at 67″ tall and 18-steps at 79″ tall. You can also purchase a 3-step extension kit that allows you to customize the height. A weighted base provides maximum stability.
I think this design is really attractive, but more importantly cats love it. Careful attention was paid to the spacing between the steps (4″) and the width of the steps (12″) making it easy for cats to climb up and down. The large platform on top in the shape of a cat head with a yin-yang design for the eyes, is clearly a coveted destination.

This modern spiral cat tree is GENIUS! Very attractive, lots of thought put into the dimensions and design, and obviously very cat-attractive. I’d like to see a larger top platform. Thanks for sharing with us!
My cat was not so happy when I moved into a place without carpet. It’s too bad they don’t have a carpeted option. There are contemporary low or no pile carpets (Berber) that would be great and would avoid having to use tacky nonslip tape.
Beth, just buy an area piece from Lowe’s or Home Depot or a hardware store. We have door mats from one, and my cats (5) love scratching on them.
Tho, I do agree, those steps would be less slippery and cats would live to hang out on the steps, if they had carpeted-like treads, ie indoor-outdoor.
How elegant. I could see it being particularly useful for an older cat, who still wants to access heights but cannot jump so easily anymore.
I would prefer small squares of carpet on each stair, like others said, and would add them myself if I bought one. On their website, they said they avoided carpet for ease of cleaning, and I understand that. But cats can slip on such smooth surfaces, and the spiral shape could mean a falling cat doesn’t have the time to safely reposition before they land.
I wonder if heavy duty Velcro would allow for replaceable carpet squares, so one could be washed (or replaced) after an accident? Probably not, Velcro in my house inevitably becomes covered in cat fur.
This looks great but so modern. Does anyone know of similar stairs for older cats that are more rustic or cottage style friendly?
Thanks!
