Good news! Really Great Cat Litter (yes, that’s the name) from Tuft+Paw is back in stock! We fell in love with this litter when we tried it earlier this year and apparently so did lots of other cat lovers because they sold out fast. Now you can order with their convenient subscription service that includes free shipping.
Tracking is one of my biggest concerns when it comes to litter. Because of the way Really Great Cat Litter is shaped, in long thin pieces, there is almost no tracking at all. I also love that it’s made with five simple, recognizable ingredients: soybean fiber, corn starch, corn flour, guar gum, and charcoal. With excellent clumping, one bag of litter will last about a month for one cat.
The charcoal in Really Great Cat Litter provides good odor control. I also like to sprinkle a little crushed zeolite in the box for extra odor control. The litter is completely flushable as long as you only put smaller clumps into the toilet. (Note: if you have indoor only cats who do not hunt prey then it is safe to flush their litter because they are not likely to be infected with Toxoplasmosis. However, if your cats go outside where they might catch an infected rodent then please do not flush cat litter in order to protect the environment.)

Your crushed zeolite trick must make a huge difference. I decided to try this litter and got almost immediate ammonia build-up (and I scoop 1-2 times a day with only one cat). Super disappointed as the lack of tracking is great.
