Sometimes senior cats need a little extra consideration when it comes to the litter box. Regular boxes can be hard for them to climb in and out of, resulting in accidents. Mama Cat is the Hauspanther studio cat and she is about 20 years old. She’s still doing pretty well but she was having trouble with the regular litter box. She was entering the box normally but then consistently exiting the box over the side instead of turning around and going back through the cutaway entrance. This was a disaster as she tipped the whole box over a few times. I needed to find a better solution for her.
I had read about the KittyGoHere Senior Cat Litter Box but had never tried it with my cats so I ordered one. It comes in two sizes, small is 15″ wide by 20″ long and large is 24″ wide by 20″ long. Both are only 5″ tall with a very shallow 3″ high step over entrance. We got the smaller size thinking that Mama Cat would do her business and then exit over the side of the box, which is exactly how she is using it. So far so good! No more tipped over litter box and she isn’t having any accidents on the floor either.
The KittyGoHere Senior Cat Litter Box comes in several different colors and can also be used for kittens and rabbits. It’s definitely not a solution for cats who require a high-sided litter box, this is solving a different issue, and in our case it was exactly what Mama Cat needed.

So glad you found something that worked for her. I couldn’t agree more that these are fantastic boxes for senior kitties. I had bought a couple of the 20” by 24” boxes for my 20 year old Torbie. They really helped! The investment was definitely worth it for her. Unfortunately she passed last October. My 13 year old Tortie still uses them along with my two 8 year old Tabby siblings. They all prefer these boxes over the standard ones. I have since bought a third one for them.
