Things have been a little quiet around here recently and I wanted to give you all an update. Those of you who have followed me over the years may remember previous posts regarding my breast cancer diagnosis, first in 2013 and again in 2017. Well, I had a third recurrence of beast cancer this year so I’ve been dealing with that over the past few months.
I had surgery last week, my sixth cancer-related surgery in ten years, and now I am recuperating but I plan to get right back to business as usual, continuing to bring you feline design finds from around the world and designing products and environments for cats and cat lovers, plus I have some other fun new projects to share with you soon!
For me this has been yet another reminder of how important it is to take good care of yourself and take time every day to appreciate loved ones, especially our furry feline friends. The photo below was taken right after I got home from surgery. Cats definitely know when you need a little extra support and love!
Thank you all for continuing to follow Hauspanther, either on the blog or on social media. So much has changed since I started doing this way back in 2007 but my passion for what I do has not changed at all.
If you would like to send any support, I do have a GoFundMe set up to help with some of my medical expenses or you can always shop at shop.hauspanther.com. I truly appreciate this community and wish everyone the very best health and happiness always.
Sincerely,
Kate Benjamin
Founder of Hauspanther
Speedy and comfortable recovery.
Hugs Kate, I hate to hear that damned cancer has struck again. I had breast cancer and colon cancer and it just sucks. Love the kitty group therapy. You’re in my thoughts.
Patti
I understand what you’re going through. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer. Had chemo, radiation and two surgeries but while I have been declared “free of cancer” last month I realize that it could come back at any time. Prayers for us all!
I’m so sorry you are going through this, Kate. I’m putting good energy out into the Universe for you.
Enjoy cuddling with your pile of cats. 🙂
You’re one of my favorite people, Kate, and I am so sorry you are having to deal with this; but I know you’re a warrior and that you have the best reasons on earth to keep fighting and working. Sharing your post, with *Prayers*, best thoughts always, and continued best wishes for the success of your wonderful business, which I refer many to.
Sending you all the positive energy I can and our 4 cats too
Stay strong as I know you are
You will be in my thoughts
Sending hugs and purrs your way.
Wishing you a speedy (and complete) recovery. Hugs.
Kathy,
What kind of breast cancer did you have? Did you have a mastectomy? That is scary to think it could come back 3 times. I am a survivor of 3 years.
God bless you, Kate.
Loving prayers are coming your way. So many love you. Count me as one of them!! Always. 💜
A woman is like a tea bag. She never knows what she is made of until she is in hot water! As long as I have known you and Hauspanther, I have admired you. You’ve got this, Girl. Thank you for the update.
Dear Kate, we are all pulling for you and your fight against cancer! Stay strong, hope you heal quickly!
Thinking of you, Kate, and wishing you increasing strength and daily renewal. May Peace be with you.
I’ve donated and thank you for everything you do. You’ve been publishing about cats before it was the hip thing to do lol. ❤️😻 But seriously, I’m very glad to see these test results and hope you continue to be on the mend!
Just sent a small contribution through your GoFundMe. So glad your kitties are there for you, and they and your very positive attitude will help you so much! My kitties and I send love –
Kate, you are such a light in this world. And that volume of voids on your bed are so in love with you. Sending a whole lotta care and comfort and healing from my crew to you and yours.
Wishing you good health and lots of time with your cats!
I’m sending all the good thoughts and wishes that I can. I love that all the kitties are surrounding you. Their purring helps heal, especially after surgery!
My cats and I appreciate all your years of hard work helping us, Kate.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
May you be blessed.
