Over the years I’ve seen a lot of solutions for protecting furniture from cat scratching, but this new product may be the best one yet. Introducing Cat-e-Corner, the flagship product from Hilde & Phil. This elegant piece wraps around the side of a sofa or lounge chair, providing your cat with a sturdy, replaceable sisal scratching surface while doubling as a sleek side table for you.
Extensive research went into creating a product that would work with the majority of sofa designs. The height can be adjusted to 22.5″, 24.5″ or 26.5″ with optional risers. The scratcher wraps around the front corner and has a sturdy base to keep it in place. Choose either left or right configuration.
I love that they made the woven sisal scratching surface replaceable. Sturdy Velcro fasteners make it easy to remove and replace but also keep it firmly attached, allowing for even the strongest scratching. Cat-e-Corner will initially be offered with a natural sisal scratcher but additional colors and designs will be introduced later.
Cat-e-Corner is truly more like a piece of fine furniture than a disposable cat scratcher. It is made with solid wood — no particle board, laminate or veneer. Choose from natural maple or black walnut, both with a clear finish.
The Cat-e-Corner will be launching on Kickstarter next week. It will be available at a discounted price in either maple or black walnut, and both left and right facing options. If you’re as excited about this product as I am, make sure to sign up here to be notified of the Kickstarter launch so you can take advantage of the savings!

THAT is a BRILLIANT idea! I’m surprised no one thought of it sooner! Bet it would work on some types of chairs too!
Great idea! Sharing.
Wow I want this so badly! The zigzag weave looks great! Is it available internationally/australia
Our cat doesn’t bother the furniture, except for a small upholstered ottoman that came with him. It’s a shredded mess by now and needs replacing. (I’m tired of cleaning up the bits of upholstery fabric and underlying foam as well.) Would not tempt him to use the furniture by putting this near it, but need something large to put by the wall where the ottoman is (hidden behind a room divider). This “cat-e-corner” might be it!
